New Clinician Resource Available Now: the Exercise and Depression Toolkit

The Exercise and Depression Toolkit is an evidence-based resource designed to support health care providers in exploring exercise as a treatment option for depression in collaboration with their patient or client.

CANMAT guidelines now recommend exercise as a stand-alone treatment for mild-moderate depression, and as an adjunctive treatment for moderate-severe depression.  The Exercise and Depression Toolkit was created to help implement these clinical guidelines.

For more information, and to download the toolkit free of charge, please visit www.exerciseanddepression.ca.

CANMAT was a partner involved in developing this toolkit, along with the Centre for Active Living, and the Canadian Mental Health Association. This project was funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and research was conducted at the University of British Columbia.
