In the column to the right please rate the statement according to the level of competence you have at present. Compare the results. Statements with a high difference from left to right are target areas for further learning.

Maintain a high index of suspicion and evalutate risk factors
Detect depressive symptoms with a clinical interview
Diagnose the mood disorder using clinical history and interview
Evaluate patients with a complete medical history and physical examination
Identify and treat potential known causes (if present) of mood disorder
Reevaluate for mood disorders
Develop a treatment plan with the patient
Select the most appropriate acute phase treatment
If medication is used, select the type and dose best suited to the patient
Evaluate treatment response
Proceed to continuation phase treatment
Evaluate the need for maintenance phase
